Project for the improvement of the life conditions of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese and Jordanian host community for the development of technical and professional skills and for the creation of employment opportunities in the Bekaa Governorate in Lebanon and in the Amman Governorate in Jordan.
The project provided Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities with employment opportunities and decent work in the garment sector, to foster their livelihoods and self-reliance.
The project provided the beneficiaries with two kinds of training: technical training about basic sewing techniques, and practical training about the techniques and standards used in the large scale garment production carried out in a garment factory located in the Qualified Industrial Zone of Sahab.
The project has organized awareness events about social cohesion and inclusion of women in the economic life of the community. Several events took place in the auditorium of the cultural center of the Municipality of Sahab, with theatre performances and workshops.
At the end of the training, the beneficiaries were given employment opportunities in the Garment factory, through a one-year contract.
